Frontier Foot & Ankle Specialists is a podiatry practice located in Kingsport, TN. Our board certified doctors both have extensive medical and surgical training, and are able to offer our patients a wide array of treatments tailored to their specific needs. Our goal is to help patients return quickly to doing the activities they love.

Frontier Foot & Ankle Specialists was founded to serve the communities of northeast Tennessee and southwest Virginia with expert podiatric care.

Meet Our Providers

Ann L. Wolford, DPM, FACPM

Dr. Ann Wolford was born and raised in Wytheville, Virginia and is excited to get back to her roots to serve patients in the area where she grew up. Dr. Wolford has over 8 years of experience in private practice. She has extensive training in both conservative and surgical management of all foot and ankle conditions including trauma, wound care, sports injuries, and foot conditions related to diabetes and other systemic disease processes. She is board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine. Dr. Wolford is proud to serve on the Tennessee Podiatric Medical Association board of directors as the East Tennessee Alternate Trustee.

Michael J. Willis, DPM, FACPM

Dr. Michael Willis, originally from St. Louis, Missouri, is happy to call east Tennessee home. His love for the outdoors, mountain views, and easy going people brought him here to stay. Dr. Willis completed an intensive 3 year surgical residency program, and had extensive experience with patients in both urban and rural settings. He has had extensive training in all aspects of foot and ankle care including orthopedic related injuries, foot and ankle reconstruction, and diabetic limb salvage. He is board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine.

We always encourage patients to confirm that we are in-network with your insurance when scheduling an appointment with the office. We also offer affordable self-pay rates. What to Expect at Your Visit

Our friendly and experienced staff will take great care of you. Please bring your insurance card and ID to your appointment.

A thorough exam of your foot and/or ankle will be performed. Your podiatrist may wish to obtain x-rays to better diagnose and treat your condition. Your doctor will then recommend your best options for a treatment plan. We like to start conservatively with the easiest and best options to get you back on your feet.

If your condition does require surgery, your podiatric surgeon is well trained to walk you through the procedure. Some procedures are relatively minor and can be performed in office. Other procedures may require anesthesia at the hospital or surgery center.
